You're Appreciated

Here's my card for the current challenge at The Paper Players.  I used the sketch along with stamps and dies from Lil' Inker Designs to create a teacher appreciation card.  It's been a long first month of school for most teachers (and for us central office folks, too...), so I know that teachers can't be thanked enough for all that they are doing.

You're Appreciated card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from Lil' Inker Designsa
My focal image is a die cut apple created with the Apple Shaker die set.  I used foam tape to adhere the die cut piece to a cream panel.  The panel was matted on dark brown cardstock for contrast.  For the background, I embossed a kraft panel with an alphabet patterned embossing folder.  The embossed panel was matted on dark brown cardstock and adhered to a red cardfront to match the applie die cut.  I added a long red polka dotted fishtail flag strip to the right side of the cardfront before positioning a strip of chocolate brown cardstock with a contrasting green strip at the center across the cardfront. The image panel was placed on top.  The "you're appreciated" sentiment from the Teacher Talk stamp set was stamped in brown ink on a narrow kraft strip.  I used a combination of foam tape and adhesive to position the sentiment on the cardfront, slightly overlapping the die cut apple.

Materials Used:
Teacher Talk stamp set, Apple Shaker dies (Lil' Inker Designs); Memento Rich Cocoa ink (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); Kraft and Ripe Avocado cardstock (Papertrey Ink); Chocolate Chip cardstock (Stampin' Up!); Red Punch cardstock (Recollections); School Daze 6x6 paper pad (My Mind's Eye); Fishtail Flag STAX dies (My Favorite Things); Typeset embossing folder (Cuttlebug); foam tape
