It's time for another Color Throwdown! Wanda is our hostess this week with a mix of cool colors--violet, mint, and cream.
I paired the colors with the current Fab Friday challenge and stamps and dies from Hello Bluebird. I created a simple wintery scene on the layout's top panel. The snowy background was created with HB's Snowy Sky Scene die. I used both cream and aqua cardstock to cut the die, then pieced the sections together for my scene. The aqua piece was backed with silver to give it a snowy effect. The sweet skating bear from the Skating Party set finished my scene. I colored the image with Copic markers and cut it out with my Scan n' Cut machine before adding it to the panel with foam tape for dimension. The panel was matted on cream cardstock before it was adhered to a purple card base over an aqua striped panel. For contrast, I tucked a strip of purple cardstock, again matted with cream, beneath the right edge of my focal image panel. The "season's greetings" sentiment from the Typed Christmas set was stamped on a narrow cream strip in purple ink and adhered to the card with one end tucked beneath the raised bear image to complete the card.To play along, just create a paper crafted project using
these colors as a starting point and add a direct link to your finished project
using the linky tool found at the end of this week's CTD post. As always, if you don’t have exact color
matches, something close works just fine.
Just be sure that the challenge colors are the dominant ones in your
project. And, if you upload your project
to an online gallery, use the keyword CTD620.
If you upload your projects on social media, go ahead and use the
hashtag #ctd620 and #colorthrowdown. You can find us on Instagram and on
Facebook with the username colorthrowdown. Before you get started, here’s some inspiration from the talented Color
Throwdown team.
