Warm Hugs and Frosty Kisses

Warm Hugs and Frosty Kisses card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from My Favorite Things
Here's my card for the current My Favorite Things Wednesday Sketch Challenge.  I flipped the sketch on its side for this simple seasonal design.

My focal image is one of the polar bears from the Polar Opposite stamp set.  I colored the image with Copic markers, then cut it out by hand--I was too lazy to get my Scan 'n Cut machine set up to cut it out for me...  I used a large aqua polka dotted circle to make a snowy background for the bear image.  The image was adhered to the panel using foam tape.  I adhered it to the bottom of an aqua cardstock panel over a silver fishtail flag strip, trimming off the section of the circle that hung over the panel's edge.  The "warm hugs and frosty kisses" sentiment from the Warm Hugs and Frosty Kisses stamp set was stamped on a narrow red fishtail flag strip that I tucked beneath the raised bear image to ground it.  I arranged a trio of silver sequins around the image as an accent before adhering the panel to a red card base that matches the sentiment strip.

Materials Used:
Polar Opposites and Warm Hugs and Frosty Kisses stamp sets, Fishtail Flag STAX dies (My Favorite Things); Memento Tuxedo Black ink (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); markers (Copic); Aqua Mist cardstock, Aqua Mist patterned paper (Papertrey Ink); Red Punch and Silver cardstock (Recollections); circle dies (Spellbinders); silver sequins; foam tape
