Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

Here's my contribution to the Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop that kicks off this morning.  I used the current sketch at Try Stampin' on Tuesday for this warm and cozy design featuring stamps from WPlus9.

Sending Cozy Wishes card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps from WPlus9
I used Copic markers to color up a pair of mugs and the sweet cookie, then cut out the colored images with my Scan 'n Cut machine.  The marshmallow toppings were stamped separately and cut out by hand.  I used a craft knife to cut a slit in the top of each mug and tucked the marshmallows inside the slit.  The images were arranged on a bright pink cardstock panel with a contrasting block of navy and white striped patterned paper at the bottom.  The striped block was framed by narrow strips of navy and contrasting teal cardstock at the top and some festive teal pom pom trim at the bottom.  I mixed and matched text from the Cookies & Cocoa and All the Cheer stamp sets to create the "sending cozy wishes" sentiment that I stamped in black on pink cardstock strips.  The strips were adhered to the panel using foam tape for dimension.  I added scraps of clear crystal flourishes extending out from each mug as steam, then adhered the panel to a teal card base to match the accents.

Materials Used:
Cookies & Cocoa and All the Cheer stamp sets (WPlus9); Memento Tuxedo Black ink (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); markers (Copic); Night of Navy and Taken with Teal cardstock (Stampin' Up!); Hibiscus Burst cardstock (Papertrey Ink); Hello 6x6 paper pad (Doodlebug Design); clear crystal flourish (Recollections); teal pom pom trim; foam tape
