The Stockings Were Hung

The Stockings Were Hung card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from Verve Stamps

Here's my card for the current challenge at Try Stampin' on Tuesday. I paired the sketch with the optional challenge theme--merry--for this festive design using stamps and dies from Verve Stamps.  I colored up a pair of stockings using Verve's Jolly Jingles stamp set.  It's hard to see in the photo, but the cuffs are covered with white flock for some texture and the bells are dotted with silver liquid pearls for shine and dimension.  The stocking pair was adhered to the top of a pale gray cardstock panel using foam tape.  I adhered an angled panel of dotted patterned paper edged with shiny silver paper to the bottom of the panel.  The set's stocking themed sentiment was stamped in red ink on a white panel and matted on red cardstock, then adhered to the patterned panel.  I wrapped the panel with a strip of red seam binding and secured it with a simple knot before adhering the panel to a red card base matching the mat behind the sentiment panel.

Materials Used:
Jolly Jingles stamp set, Winter Friends dies (Verve Stamps); Memento Tuxedo Black and Lady Bug inks (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); markers (Copic); Red Punch and Silver cardstock (Recollections); North Pole 6x6 paper pad (Doodlebug Design); white flock (Stampendous); Silver Pearl Liquid Pearls (Ranger); red seam binding (Martha Stewart); foam tape
