Sweet Birthday Wishes

Sweet Birthday Wishes card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from My Favorite Things

Here's my card for the current My Favorite Things Wednesday Sketch Challenge.  I used the layout to create a sweet cupcake themed birthday card.

I created the cupcakes using the Mini Cupcake maker die. The cupcake wrappers were cut from gold foil cardstock.  The tops were cut from white cardstock, then inked with Vintage Photo distress ink to give them a chocolate look.  I positioned the cupcakes on a trio of pink pierced circle die cuts arranged on the left side of a pale green card base.  The lower half of the bottom circle was covered by a panel of patterned paper with a circle pattern.  I tucked the patterned panel beneath the raised cupcake element.  I trimmed off the top cupcake so that it was lined up with the card's top edge.  The "sweet birthday wishes" sentiment from the Bitty Birthday Wishes stamp set was stamped on a narrow pink fishtail flag strip matching the trio of circles on the cardfront.  I adhered the sentiment strip to the patterned paper panel to finish the design.

Materials Used:
Bitty Birthday Wishes stamp set, Mini Cupcake Maker, Pierced Circle STAX, and Fishtail Flag STAX dies (My Favorite Things); Memento Tuxedo Black ink (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); Vintage Photo distress ink (Ranger); Spring Moss and Sweet Blush cardstock (Papertrey Ink); Gold Foil cardstock (Recollections); designer paper (My Mind's Eye); foam tape
