Birthday Wishes

Birthday Wishes card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps from Reverse Confetti
Here's my card for the current sketch at CAS(e) this Sketch. I made a simple, easy to mail birthday design and used up a bunch of scraps in the process!

The first scrap to be put to use was the triangle of candle patterned paper.  I placed the scrap in the upper left corner of a green cardstock panel, then positioned an angled strip of teal cardstock beneath it.  For sparkle and shine, I wrapped the teal cardstock with a piece of gold polka dotted washi tape before putting it in place.  The tape looks greenish here, but it's gold, I promise!  To bring in a bit more gold, I tucked a narrow strip of gold foil cardstock underneath the bottom edge of the teal cardstock.  The "birthday wishes" sentiment from Reverse Confetti's Birthday Wishes stamp set was stamped along the edge of the strip in teal ink.  To finish it off, I adhered the now dressed up green panel to a coordinating teal card base.

Materials Used:
Birthday Wishes stamp set (Reverse Confetti); Tropical Teal ink (My Favorite Things); Green Parakeet cardstock (Papertrey Ink); Ocean and Gold Foil cardstock (Recollections); Birthday Wishes 6x6 paper pad (Echo Park); gold dotted washi tape
