It's time for another Color Throwdown! Lisa is our hostess this week with a mix of neutrals and a pop of rich color--plum, cream, and black.
I paired the colors with a layered floral set from Altenew and the current challenge at Sunday Stamps. My flowers are from the Build-a-Flower: Dahlia set. I used my MISTI to stamp the outline and two of the layers from each flower on cream cardstock. To get the two plum tones, I stamped the solid stamp, then pressed it on a piece of scrap paper to get a lighter shade for the base layer. Once I stamped the layers, I cut the layered flowers out with the matching die. I had been missing the largest dahlia die and I was so happy to find it tucked beneath something on my desk! I used foam tape to position the flowers on a cream panel. The panel was matted on gold cardstock then adhered to a black panel. I stamped the set's "thinking of you and how special you are" sentiment beneath the floral panel in gold pigment ink, then heat embossed it so it would stand out. The panel was adhered to a plum card base to match the colors of the flower duo.To play along, just create a paper crafted project using
these colors as a starting point and add a direct link to your finished project
using the linky tool found at the end of this week's CTD post. As always, if you don’t have exact color
matches, something close works just fine.
Just be sure that the challenge colors are the dominant ones in your
project. And, if you upload your project
to an online gallery, use the keyword CTD626.
If you upload your projects on social media, go ahead and use the
hashtag #ctd626 and #colorthrowdown. You can find us on Instagram and on
Facebook with the username colorthrowdown. Before you get started, here’s some inspiration from the talented Color
Throwdown team and this week's Guest Star Stamper Angie Cimbalo.
