Bug Deal

Really a Bug Deal card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from Lawn Fawn
Here's my card for the current Paper Craft Crew challenge. I used the layout with stamps from Lawn Fawn to make a fun bug themed congratulations card.

The long strip across the layout's oval panel is represented here by a branch from the A Bug Deal set. It was stamped on kraft cardstock and cut out by hand, then adhered to a light blue dotted patterned paper oval. To fill in the branches and represent the pair of elements accenting the long strip, I stamped up some leaves and ladybugs, then colored them with Copic markers. After cutting them out I arranged them on the branch, using foam tape to give the ladybugs dimension. The third element on the oval panel was represented by a sun and cloud from the All the Clouds stamp set. The cloud was cut from shimmery white cardstock for a little sparkle. For the sentiment, I curved the "this is a really bug deal" sentiment around my block to match the shape of the branch, then stamped the text right next to the branch in black ink. I matted the dotted oval on coordinating light blue cardstock before adhering it to a green panel embossed with a dotted pattern. The green panel was adhered to a light blue card base to complete the design.

Materials Used:
A Bug Deal, Hey Lady, and All the Clouds stamp sets, All the Clouds dies (Lawn Fawn); Memento Tuxedo Black ink (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); markers (Copic); Simply Chartreuse, Spring Rain, and Kraft cardstock, Spring Rain patterned paper (Papertrey Ink); Shimmery White cardstock (Stampin' Up!); petite oval dies (Spellbinders); Spotted embossing folder (Lifestyle Crafts); foam tape
