Love at First Sip

Love at First Sip card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from My Favorite Things
Here's my card for the current My Favorite Things Wednesday Sketch Challenge and the current color challenge, too. This one was inspired by the coffee themed card one of the DT members made for the color challenge. The coffee cup made a perfect focal image for my design.

I did modify the layout to be a standard A2 card instead of a slimline, but I think the bones of the sketch are still there. My to go cup was created with the Coffee Cup die set. I used foam tape to place the assembled cup on a teal panel cut with a pierced rectangle die from the Blueprints 21 die set. I knew that I was going to use a pair of pierced heart die cuts to represent the two smaller round elements on the layout, so that pierced detailing tied everything together.  The die cut hearts were arranged to the right of the coffee cup. The larger one was tucked beneath the raised cup and the smaller one was adhered with foam tape for dimension.  I stamped the "with you, it was love at first sip" sentiment from the Cup of Love stamp set in white pigment ink on a dark brown fishtail flag strip. The text was heat embossed with white embossing powder so it would pop against the dark background. I used foam tape to adhere the strip to the panel, positioning it over the bottom of the cup. The finished panel was adhered to a brown card base to match the sentiment strip.
