Waving Hello

Waving Hello card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from Paper Smooches  Here's my card for the current challenge at Freshly Made Sketches. I used the layout for a nautical themed design with stamps and dies from Paper Smooches. I represented the long wavy section of the sketch with a "river" created by cutting a patterned paper panel with the wavy stitched die from PS's Stitched dies set. The die doesn't make a cut in the paper, but cuts a stitched line. I followed the perforated line with my scissors to cut apart the panel, then placed the pieces on the cardfront leaving the center exposed to form the water. The boat from the Wicked Nauticool set was colored upwith Copic markers and added to the cardfront with foam tape for dimension. Originally I stamped the "waving hello" sentiment directly on the patterned paper. I decided it needed more contrast to pop, so I stamped it on a red panel and placed it over the stamped text. Much better!

Materials Used:
Wicked Nauticool stamp set, Nauticool Icons and Stitched dies (Paper Smooches); Memento Tuxedo Black ink (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); markers (Copic); Brocade Blue and Riding Hood Red cardstock (Stampin' Up!); Men of Life patterned paper (Papertrey Ink); foam tape
