Here's my card for the current Fusion challenge. I paired the sketch with elements from the inspiration photo (butterfly image, shades of aqua/blue) for this colorblocked design.I built my design on an aqua card base. A matching strip of aqua cardstock embossed with a dotted pattern was placed along the bottom of the cardfront. The texture sets it off from the card base even though it is the exact same color. A contrasting darker aqua cardstock panel was adhered to the left side of the cardfront. A white panel was placed on the open space on the right side of the card. I used the Papillon stamp set from The Stamp Market to create a dimensional butterfly to place at the intersection of the three panels. The top layer of the butterfly was cut from vellum and attached only at the center of the butterfly so that the wings could bent up for dimension and the illusion of movement. For the sentiment, I die cut the word "hello" from darker aqua cardstock using the Scripty Hellos die set. The delicate die cut was adhered to the white panel to finish the design.
Materials Used:
Papillon stamp set, Papillon and Scripty Hellos dies (The Stamp Market); Sea Glass and Tranquil Teal inks (Gina K Designs); Memento Tuxedo Black ink (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); Hawaiian Shores and Aqua Mist cardstock (Papertrey Ink); white vellum (Recollections); Swiss Dot embossing folder (Cuttlebug); foam tape
Great card Lori, love the gradient butterfly.
