Introducing Rock-a-Bye

It’s time to introduce the April Stamp of the Month from Clear & Simple Stamps. This month’s set is Rock-a-Bye. You can use the discount code CSS0410 to get a $1 discount on your purchase of this set during the month of April. And, along with this stamp set, we’re featuring the Yellow Green 2 Copic Trio this month, which includes YG11, YG13, and YG17. Be sure to stop by the store and check it all out.

Sue has designed another great template to coordinate with this stamp set. The rocking horse will make a perfect centerpiece for baby showers and other child-related celebrations. You can find the free template here.

Here’s my take on the template. I cut the horse body from brown cardstock and stamped the star border pattern from the Rock-a-Bye set repeatedly on a piece of blue cardstock for my own custom-made designer paper for the box between the horses. I used paper punches to add some details, like the eyes and coordinating saddle. I machine stitched along the curved rockers and added brads at the end as simple accents. The fringed mane was created with a little help from a pair of Martha Stewart fringe scissors.

The box is the perfect size to hold a small baby bottle. I’ve filled this one with pastel M&M’s.

Be sure to visit the rest of the CSS design team to see what they’ve created using the Rock-a-Bye stamp set and the coordinating template. Here’s where to find them:
