Color Throwdown with Coffee
Here's my card for this week's Color Throwdown. This week's colors--Riding Hood Red, Pear Pizzazz, and Chocolate Chip/Kraft--are perfect for a holiday card, but I went with a coffee themed one instead using the Miss You a Latte a la mode from My Favorite Things.
I colored the coffee-carrying girl image using Copic markers. It's cut out and embossed with an oval Nestabilities die.
I colored the coffee-carrying girl image using Copic markers. It's cut out and embossed with an oval Nestabilities die.I used some of October Afternoon's Good Cheer designer paper for the mat behind the image. I layered the patterned paper on a Pear Pizzazz panel, then machine stitched around the edges before attaching it to the card base. The colored image panel is layered on the patterned paper. I stamped the sentiment on a strip of ribbon and added a pair of stacked buttons, tied together with baker's twine, to the end of the sentiment to anchor it.
If you're a MFT fan, be sure to stop back tomorrow. I'll have another MFT creation to share first thing in the morning . . .
Materials Used:
Miss You a Latte a la mode stamp set (My Favorite Things); white cardstock (Couture Cardstock); Tuxedo Black ink (Memento); markers (Copic); Pear Pizzazz, Chocolate Chip, and Crumb Cake cardstock (Stampin' Up!); Good Cheer designer paper (October Afternoon); petite oval dies (Spellbinders); red grosgrain ribbon (Michaels); buttons (Papertrey Ink); baker's twine (The Twinery)

I LOVE this a latte, Lori! That October Afternoon paper goes perfectly, and I love the double-stack of buttons with the twine! Thanks for joining us for the Throwdown!

ReplyDeleteI love this, Lori! The offset image and sentiment tag balance each other so well. Now I need a cafe treat. ;)
