Hippo Hooray

This week’s Paper Smooches SPARKS challenge is an Anything Goes challenge. I used the Zoo Crew stamp set and coordinating Zoo 2 dies to make a fun card to congratulate a young friend on the successful completion of his school year.

I die cut the hippo shape using the Zoo 2 dies, then stamped the matching image on the die cut and colored it with Copic markers. The hippo is adhered over a piece of leafy patterned paper using foam tape for dimension. I tucked a strip of gray pom pom trim underneath the bottom edge of the patterned paper to add a little texture to the design. The “hippo hooray” sentiment was stamped above the patterned paper strip in black pigment ink so it would stand out nicely against the kraft background.

  1. OH MY! I thought those pom poms were scalloped paper! LOOOOOOOOOOOVE that you gave it dimension with that ribbon trim! WOW! LOVE your coloring for that hippo!!! Great card for your little friend's bday:)
