Seize the Sketch 14-Just a Note
It's time for new sketch at Seize the Sketch! Today's sketch is courtesy of the talented Amy. I flipped the sketch on its side to create my take on the layout.
I used some new to me stamps from Uniko Studio on my card. i {heart} papers has just started carrying Uniko stamps--in fact, they're the only store in the US that stocks them now--and I thought I'd give them a try. My card features the flower from the Flower Power #3 set along with a sentiment from the All Occasion Sentiments #1 set.
I heat embossed the flower image in black pigment ink on watercolor paper and heat embossed it, then used distress markers and an aquapainter to color it in instead of my usual Copic markers. My watercoloring skills definitely need practice, but it was fun to change things up a bit!
The flower's adhered to a pink panel stamped with the "just a note" sentiment, stamped in gray ink. I used dimensional dots to attach it, then tucked a pair of pale green leaves, made with a circle punch and my scoring board, underneath the blossom. The sentiment strip is adhered to a berry panel along with a piece of coordinating dotted patterned paper. I layered the panel on top of a white paper doily set on a pale pink panel.
Check out the STS blog for more fabulous samples from the design team and for all the details on how you can play along.
