Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge-Frosting

*** Scroll down to the post below or click HERE to see my card for this week's Mojo Monday sketch challenge! ***

We hope you'll play along!  The LEAD of this challenge will be invited as a Guest Designer in a future challenge!  Please visit the Curtain Call Challenge blog for all the challenge info and deadline.

Birthday Wishes card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from Avery ElleI was inspired by the pink frosting on the yummy looking cupcakes in the photo and made a cupcake the focal point of my card.  The layout is from the current challenge at Sunday Stamps.  My cupcake image is from Avery Elle's Cupcakes stamp set.  I stamped the images in brown ink, then added color with Copic markers before cutting out the pieces with the matching dies.  The pieces were assembled on a white circle die cut, using foam tape for dimension.  It's hard to see in the photo, but I gave the cherry extra shine with a coating of Glossy Accents.

To go with the cupcake, I covered a mint green card base with a feminine floral patterned paper panel.  After adding a lace trimmed golden yellow panel to the cardfront, I placed the cupcake image on top.  I stamped the "birthday wishes" sentiment from the Red and Goldie set in black ink on a narrow pink cardstock strip.  I put it in place over the cupcake with foam tape to complete the design.

Make sure you visit each of the designers' blogs for more inspiration:

Season's Givings Blog Hop Winner!

***  Scroll down to the post below or click HERE to see my card for this week's TCP Tuesday challenge!   ***

Thanks to all of you who stopped by Inking Aloud for this year's Season's Giving Blog Hop!  I really enjoyed reading about all of the crafty things you'd like to try out this year--and I have to admit that I have some of the same plans and ideas for this year, too. I hope you'll keep up with my crafty adventures here or on Facebook or Instagram.

I used Random.org to pick a winner for my prize package. The number chosen was 68, which is Brandi lynn.  Brandi lynn, please send me an email (ltecler@verizon.net) to claim your prize!

During the hop, I had a few people ask about my goldendoodle, Chloe the cutie puppy, so I thought I'd wrap up my post with a new year's greeting from my sweet (almost 6 years old!) girly.  I don't share too much about her here anymore, but Chloe and her shenanigans frequently appear in my Instagram feed.  Thanks again to everyone for stopping by--and happy new year!

Pop Fizz Clink New Year card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from Clear and Simple Stamps

In honor of the new year, I put together a festive design using stamps and dies from Clear and Simple Stamps.  I've never been a big fan of metallic gold, but I have to admit it's growing on me, especially on designs like this one!  I'm looking forward to lots of great things in 2015 and hope that you are, too.

I've put together a great prize package for one lucky visitor.  The package includes two 6x6 paper pads (one from Studio Calico, one from Crate Paper), a large Woodgrain Background stamp from My Favorite Things, some assorted inks from my favorite ink company, IMAGINE Crafts/Tsukineko, some trendy wood veneer speech bubble accents, and some striped washi tape that somehow rolled out of the frame before I took the photo.  There's also a bottle of irRESISTible Pico Embellisher.  If you haven't tried this yet, you need to!  It's a super cool way to add texture and dimension.   You can draw or write with it and it resists ink, too.  A few more things just may find their way into the package before it gets mailed . . .  Just leave a comment on this post letting me know something new you want to try out this year in your crafting.  I'll select a winner from comments left on this post by 11:59 PM (EST) on Sunday, January 4.  The winner will be posted here on Monday, January 5.

Season's Givings Blog Hop Winner Announcement

Sorry for the delay in posting my blog hop winner—I had a doctor’s appointment early this morning before I went to work and had to get up and out of the house even earlier than I usually do in the mornings and I ran out of time to get the post together before I left . . . Anyway, I want to thank everyone who stopped by to check out Inking Aloud during the hop. I truly appreciate all of your thoughtful comments—and hope that you get to add some of the crafty things you’re wishing for to your crafting stash this year!  I really enjoyed reading about all of the things people are interested in.  It seems like lots of you are interested in the WRMK punch boards and the Silhouette Cameo.

I used Random.org to select a winner from the comments left on my Season’s Givings blog hop post. The randomly selected number was 140, Vanessa Middleton:
