First up is a card made with the new Everyday is Christmas and Feeling Sentimental stamp sets. The Everyday Is Christmas set is perfect for Christmas cards, but when you pair it with the Feeling Sentimental set, it's just as perfect for cards to give year round! Here, I used the sets to make a birthday card.
I colored up the set's birdie image with Copic markers, then used the matching SugarCuts-Everyday Is Christmas dies to cut out the colored image. It was adhered to a pale blue Zig Zag Stitched Circle die cut using foam tape. I adhered the image panel to a blue striped patterned paper strip on a white cardstock panel. The birthday sentiment from the Feeling Sentimental set was stamped at the bottom of the patterned paper strip in red pigment ink. See that little accent tab tucked underneath the patterned paper? That's from one of the bookmarks from the SugarCuts-Brainy Bookmarks die set. Great way to stretch your dies, right?
This card shows off the new SugarCuts-Simple Numbers dies. These dies are this release's Sweet Incentive set. Until our next release, these dies are only available with a $60 purchase at SPD.
I used the numbers to create a faux embossed look. After die cutting the numbers a bunch of times from blue cardstock, I arranged them on a panel of the same color blue cardstock. The effect is a subtle raised look that appears like embossing. I thought the numbers would make a great background for an birthday card. I ran a red grosgrain ribbon strip along the length of the card, then added a layered sentiment panel made with the SugarCuts-Layered Treat Label dies. The "happy birthday" sentiment comes from the Prehistoric Pals set. In case you're wondering, these label dies work perfectly with both the new 12 Days of Christmas stamp set and the new Simple Numbers dies, too.
